Morris Lin
Electrical + Computer Engineering
I build the parts of a system most people never see — the boards, the firmware, the mechanisms that make hardware actually do what it’s supposed to.
Embedded systems, electronics, robotics, and computer vision.

AI Model Testing Dashboard
A full-stack tool for comparing language models and prompts on one measurable task, sorting support tickets, by accuracy, speed and cost. It runs each experiment in the background, scores every answer field by field, and shows the trade-offs side by side.
- 45 held-out tickets
- 180 real requests, none failed
- About $0.10 in model usage
- Next.js (App Router)
- TypeScript
- PostgreSQL (Neon)
- Drizzle ORM
- Vercel AI SDK and AI Gateway
- Zod
- Recharts
- Tailwind CSS

AI Facial Recognition Research
Comparing five pretrained face-verification models on accuracy, false acceptance, and false rejection — 50,000 verification runs, one evaluation framework, on the LFW benchmark.

FIRST Robotics — Walton 2974
Four years leading a 40-plus member competitive robotics program, from shooter and telescoping-arm subsystems to the 2025 REEFSCAPE build.

Plastic Bottle to 3D-Printer Filament
A PET-bottle recycler I built from the open PET2Print design: a bottle cutter, a heated hot end, a motorised reel and a PID temperature controller. The machine is built; proving out the filament is what’s left.

Cardboard Electric Vehicle
Selected to lead the embedded systems group for a 7-team, ~53-applicant undergraduate EV project — firmware, motor control, and sensor integration. Team is organized; the build hasn't started yet.

IEEE Micromouse
Learning bare-metal C/C++ on an STM32F103C8 with the Micromouse R&D team — starting from the registers, working toward an autonomous maze-solving robot.
Where electronics, code, and physical systems meet.
I like the place where electronics, code, and physical systems meet — where a design decision on paper turns into a board that either works or doesn't.
Most of what I build sits somewhere between embedded systems and robotics: PCB design, motor control, and lately computer vision. I'd rather have something working on a breadboard than a polished plan for one.
